THE REDEEMED

Welcome to “The Redeemed.” A horse rescue program here at Mounted Ministries. Meet “Cricket.” Cricket was extremely malnurished. Sadly, Cricket’s momma died of starvation when he was just 4 months old. This fragile colt would certainly have followed had we not stepped in. Here is a picture of Cricket the day we rescued him.

Cricket Before

We are happy to report that Cricket is now doing fantastic! Here is a picture of him just 1 month after his rescue.

Cricket's After-shot

Along with Cricket, we also rescued his daddy (Peanut) as well as a 3 year old Paint filly (Grace). All 3 required medical attention the day they arrived. Peanut was infested with lice. We had to remove his forelock and mane in order to rid him of the thousand biting lice and eggs that were found living on him. All of the horses needed to be dewormed as well as required immediate attention to their hooves.

We are able to provide and protect these helpless and neglected horses through the help of our community and friends. Where God guides, God provides. If led to help, please make your tax deductable donation by either using our secure online PayPal feature or mail a check made payable to “Mounted Ministries” PO Box 71, Pickens, SC 29671.

Volunteers are needed on a daily basis to help us nurse rescued horses like Cricket back to health, administer medicaitons, and to just provide the tender loving care so desperately in need of. If interested, please contact us at 864-752-5142. God bless and thank you for your prayers and support.

Serving the King,
Cathy Childers, CEO

We know of course that horses like to have their baby in the middle of the night. Therefore, “The Foal Patrol” of a dozen or so guys and gals slept at the barn for two nights in order to see “Baby Doll” give birth. Our happy arrival came at 1:00 AM on May 8th.

Introducing “Asa.” In the Hebrew language Asa means “physician” or “healer.” The name is perfect and poetic in that Baby Doll had to be on rest for some hoof problems for a year and since she wasn’t being used we decided we would breed her. We hope you enjoy these few pics of our lil man, Asa. Feel free to come by the farm and visit with Asa, he is quite the ‘lil ham.

Baby Doll, we are happy to report, is sound again and I am reminded of this verse today, “The godly walk with integrity; blessed are their children after them.” Proverbs 20

Trail Blazer for God,
Cathy

We invite you to come join us from 11:00 AM until 2:00 PM. The kids will have a great time riding horses, playing games, and enjoy petting some animals in our Barnyard Petting Zoo. Adults will enjoy BBQ and Bluegrass ring-side while children ride and play games. Every half-hour there will be a Christ Centered Riding demonstration. Learn from horse-trainer Cathy Childers as she rides and teaches the biblical principles necessary for “The Role of a Servant’s Heart.” We look forward to seeing you…”down on the farm.”

Happy Trails~
