Statement of Faith

Our faith is grounded firmly in the Bible, God’s Holy Word.

The Scriptures
THE BIBLE TEACHES that the Scriptures of both the Old and New Testaments are God’s complete revelation to man. Verbally inspired, absolutely inerrant, and completely trustworthy, they are the only infallible rule of faith and practice. II Timothy 3:16-17; Psalm 119:89; II Peter 1:20-21

The Godhead
THE BIBLE TEACHES that there is One, and only One true and living God. He exists eternally in three Persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. All three are One in essence, attributes, being, and purpose. I John 5:7; Exodus 3:14; I Peter 1:2-3

God the Father
THE BIBLE TEACHES that God the Father is the first Person of the divine Trinity. Almighty, omnipresent, omnipotent, and complete in omniscience, He is Father only to all who are born again through the Lord Jesus Christ. Matthew 28:19; Genesis 17:1; Isaiah 6:3

God the Son
THE BIBLE TEACHES that Jesus Christ eternally exists as the second Person of the divine Trinity. Taking on human flesh, He was wholly man, never ceasing from being wholly God. He lived a perfectly sinless life, purchased the sinner’s redemption through His substitutionary death on the cross, and rose from the dead three days later. He saves all who come to Him by faith. He is now seated at the Father’s right hand, making intercession for the saints, and He will come back to the earth a second time, not as Savior, but as Judge. John 1:1-3, 14; Titus 3:3-5; Philippians 2:5-8

God the Holy Spirit
THE BIBLE TEACHES that the Holy Spirit is the third Person of the divine Trinity. He is eternally God and the One who moved upon men to write the inspired Scriptures. The Holy Spirit convicts, restrains, and regenerates the lost. He baptizes, indwells, empowers, illuminates, leads, teaches, sanctifies, and seals all believers. It is the duty of all believers to be filled (yielded to and controlled by) the Spirit.

THE BIBLE TEACHES that God created man from the dust of the ground, instantly, not over hundreds, thousands, millions, or billions of years, with the appearance of age, in His own image, and innocent. Man sinned by disobedience to God and incurred physical and spiritual death, and all men are now born with a sinful nature, are depraved, and cannot save themselves. If man is not born again, he is eternally lost. Genesis 1:26-27; Jeremiah 17:9; Romans 1:18; Romans 3:10-23

THE BIBLE TEACHES that salvation is necessary to all men everywhere to spend eternity with God, and it is available only by God’s grace through faith in the shed blood, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ. He must be received as personal Savior from sin, and man can never be saved apart from repentance toward God first; salvation cannot be obtained through any rites, ceremonies, sacraments, churches or works of any kind. Jesus Christ is the only way to God. Ephesians 2:8-10; John 1:12; John 5:24; Romans 10:9-13; Acts 4:12

The Gospel
THE BIBLE TEACHES that the Gospel of Christ encompasses what Jesus Christ did for us upon the cross: His shed blood, substitutionary atonement for our sin debt, death, burial, and literal resurrection from the dead. It “is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth.” Born-again believers, who have been entrusted with the Good News, have the responsibility to preach and to witness of it to all the inhabitants of the earth. If anyone adds to or takes away from the Gospel in any measure, it becomes “another gospel” and is powerless to save anyone. I Corinthians 15:1-4; II Corinthians 5:21; Romans 1:16; II Thessalonians 2:4; Galatians 1:6-9

The Church
THE BIBLE TEACHES that only those who have received the Lord Jesus Christ as Savior are placed into His Body, comprising the Bride of Christ, His church; and that the local church is comprised of baptized believers. It exists to worship and to praise God in Spirit and in truth, to preach and to teach His Word, to send forth missionaries, to tell the lost of Christ’s available salvation, to fellowship with the saints of God, and to equip believers to do the work of the discipling. Matthew 16:19; Acts 2:41-42; I Timothy 3:15; I Corinthians 1:1-3
